Hi Jacob,
I am raising a question that I think, if it wasn't for one of my clients to raise the point (with a background in statistics), I would have never noticed.
The grading scale for the online test starts from 0 to 7, and it's not in line with the theory provided in Schwartz's research and studies, where the grading scale is (-1, 0, 1, ...., 7), intentionally left asymmetrical to counteract the biases of people taking the test. While I don't understand fully the background of all these assumptions, my simple question is whether the online test is valid considering this grading that deviates from the original method of Schwartz. Also in the grading scale, each number has a label, for example, -1 means totally opposed to my values, while in the online, there is no indication for the grading or what each number chosen means.
Secondly, in the same theory provided, and also I read the same in other of Schwartz's studies, Hedonism, seems to be a value theme that is shared for both Openess to Change and Self-Enhacement, while in the circular structure depicted in the course and also in the pdf Hedonism is placed only on the Openess to Change quadrant. Is that intentional, and if yes, what is the reason behind?
Thank you for looking into this and appreciate any clarifications.
Also, if anyone else noticed this and already has the answers, please feel free to share in the community.
Best wishes,
Ana

I concur with your scoring call-out. I would also love to see this scoring issue addressed and to add some guardrails to the assessment so that clients can score a maximum of two values with 7. I can't tell you how many clients' results I've seen with every value scored at 7. I then have to reinterpret the results with them live so I can get an accurate understanding of how to plot their values on the wheel.
