How does the Schwartz framework of personal values mesh with the concepts of terminal versus instrumental values... are the value themes terminal and the 57 sub-values instrumental?
Hey Dave, great question. The Schwartz framework identifies values as end states (goals to be achieved, whether they be of the ego or more altruistic in nature). The terminal vs. instrumental I've seen broken down in other literature as well (values of the ego/self vs. values that are altruistic/for the greater good).
